about the song

Having come home from the journey of being with my family for my father’s funeral, I sat below the pine tree in my backyard, missing him. I recalled some of the nicer times we shared together – his laughter, his veggie jokes, the way he placed his hand on my head to ruffle my hair. While experiencing these memories, I captured this song of love that came to my heart.

I was so inspired. I had to find a way to share it! I was so elated by this experience – I felt a calm in the storm of grief. I had to share this with my family. I knew they wanted a copy of some of his recordings that I had of his old songs. Dad, Nap Andruskievicz, wrote many songs when he was young. He played in a band and was a school teacher. Though, I never had him as a teacher, he sure taught me about life.

So I set to work on creating a memento for the family, which included the recording of this song. This one is my second recording; Robert Mari provided his loving instrumentals and studio.

I opened my heart on so many levels. I also had this strong feeling to share this song with others. And here we are… with me opening my heart to you. Not your usual path for online music, but, here we are. Able to connect. Afterall, this is what this song is about.
